Athletics & PE

Athletics Philosophy

Synapse Athletics is committed to embody our broader values by engaging in the social, emotional, and physical benefits of team sports. Students get the opportunity to put their EQ skills to the forefront as our program values fostering healthy relationships, developing skills for a healthy mind and body, and preparing students for high school athletics. Our Middle School competes with the Small Schools Intermediate League and all students are encouraged to participate. The addition of our nearby indoor multi-sport facility complements our program and is where we host our home volleyball and basketball games!

Physical education

At Synapse, we believe students should start every day with physical activity. Even our lessons & projects start with HEAT, using movement to activate memory and build community. All students have PE every morning. Each level has a longer afternoon PE block two to three times per week.

Students cycle through working on fundamental skills in 4-5 week PE units including:

  • Sportsmanship
  • Throwing & Catching
  • Running & Jumping
  • Soccer
  • Basketball
  • Volleyball
  • Dance
  • Frisbee
  • Badminton

Middle School Sports

Our sports are focused on practicing fundamental skill building, practicing together as a team and fun community building. 

All practices take place during the school day. Games and meets are 1-2x week after school.
