Transitional Kindergarten

“I love Synapse because it is a place where people can learn the way brains were built to learn: with others, with their hands, with their feet, with their hearts, and with their whole self.”

- Synapse Parent

Transitional Kindergarten is a great opportunity for older four year olds and young fives. Our youngest change makers have specific developmental needs and love to learn through imaginative play, inquiry, and physical movement, like acting out a story, being creative with art supplies, building with blocks, or having jobs in the classroom.

Synapse’s Transitional Kindergarten is project-based, with hands-on explorations to inspire curiosity and a joy of learning. And because they’re also part of a broader school community, the TK program is designed with the TK-8th grade Synapse journey in mind, incorporating Social-Emotional skills and Synapse Learning Outcomes into daily learning activities.
