Engineering & Design happens in a variety of ways in the TK - 4 program. The E&D team consults with teaching teams each trimester to find dynamic, creative, and meaningful entry points into the curriculum.
Depending on the subject and topic, the E&D Team will help teachers utilize the Innovation Model and design thinking process to develop more depth in projects, will co-teach in discrete classes, "Prop Shop" (design and construct custom teaching tools), and facilitate interdisciplinary, trimester-long projects. Depending on the level and building on skills taught in the Engineering & Design Center, projects may be supported in the classroom or in the open-floor plan Synapse Makerspace, and are always supported in Innovation & design thinking by the E&D team.
